A SMALL SAMPLE OF THE WORK I HAVE DONE.
You don’t take a Photograph, you make it.

In 2000 he took a job as a news cameraman at the local ABC affiliate in Springfield, MO. KSPR-TV. It was at KSPR that he knew he had found his passion behind the camera. After nearly a decade climbing up the news ladder in multiple markets and interviewing 4 Presidents, dozens of celebrities and dignitaries, chasing ambulances and shooting high school football, he knew it was time for a change. In 2008 he took a job with Highnoon Entertainment in Denver, CO., a large scale producer of reality content. His work with Highnoon took his skill set to a whole different level and also took him all over the world. After 6 years at Highnoon, Chad entered the freelance world. Over 20 years experience in all Photographic endeavors. From below sea level to above the tree line, I’ve photographed it all.
With over a dozen years in the business I have worked with the best of the best. No matter how big or small, I can put you in touch with the best. Just ask.
Chad Zellmer shoots with a genius eye, but his talents reach beyond the optics of photography. Chad shoots with his ears and heart trained to the humanity before him and his lens. He looks for more than the shot. Chad finds THE moment, captures it, and captivates audience with how he edits it into the broader narrative. Chad and I worked many a story together, with the understanding that I, as the writer, create a narrative UNDER the images. When television and film are done truly well, the words never override the images. Great photographers shoot and edit with daring. The daring to trust that the moment will come. To trust the power of silence, and never underestimate the strength of most modest piece of sound. Chad is a caring photojournalist who understands great storytelling massages the eye, but lives in the heart. He is so very rare in his talent for letting a story find its way there. I recommend him with every ounce of my reputation, and I do so with gratitude!!
I have known Chad for many years, traveled to many places with him, and can attest to his ability to perform in the toughest location conditions. Chad has a creative eye and a tireless work ethic, and is a master multi- tasker. He’s also really great to hang out with, love his sense of humor and music picks. The one thing I have not talked about is his camera work and photography, well, seeing is believing. Check it out, it’s amazing.
I highly recommend without reservation, Chad Zellmer, Director of Photography.
As an editor, it’s always a relief to have all the shots you need; when those shots are beautifully composed and have a voice of their own it’s an absolute joy to cut. Chad has consistently delivered great coverage, with an inspiring visual take on a wide variety of subjects. He has a great eye, and isn’t afraid to take creative risks. What’s more, he’ll collaborate with you *before* shoots, then bring back something better than you’d envisioned. When Chad is behind the camera/DP, I know the project is gonna look good.
I’ve spent the last two years working with Chad on multiple shows for the Travel Channel and can say without hesitation that he is one of the hardest working camera guys that I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. He cares about the quality of his work, and he’s constantly looking for ways that he can improve a show not only visually but also creatively. He is a Producer’s dream to have in the field. I constantly received notes back from the network applauding the photography on an episode that he shot. You can ask Chad how to get a specific shot or angle that some would say is impossible and he’ll come up with five different ideas on how to get it..
I'd really love to hear from you so why not drop me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
